When I think of the person who has had the greatest influence on my journey as a floral artist, one name shines brighter than all others: Joseph Varley. The owner of Flowers By Joseph. Joseph is not just a master of floristry—he is a creator of magic, a true visionary who sees beauty where others might see only stems and petals.

I first met Joseph after I'd opened up a new storefront, post-Covid, in Olympia, WA. Having been formerly trained in floristry 12 years earlier, I still found myself navigating an ever-changing landscape and wanted to connect with a true veteran.

Joseph's warmth, wisdom, and unmistakable passion for his craft immediately captivated me. His artistry, which graces weddings, special events, and even transforms holiday décor into otherworldly wonderlands, is unmatched. His past as a Hollywood florist includes the greatest tales! But it’s not just his skill that sets him apart—it’s his generosity of spirit.

Mr. Joseph has shared with me not only his experience and industry secrets but also his profound philosophy of floristry: that flowers are not just objects to be arranged but a medium for storytelling, emotion, and connection. Whether crafting arrangements for intimate gatherings or designing breathtaking installations, he infuses every piece with heart and soul.

What inspires me most is his legacy—one that spans decades and includes working with celebrities and high-profile clients.
